Hi everyone,
So this is going to be the last piece of diary before the launch.
I hope that the next time I talk to you, it will be inside the game, through Mai, Moly, Nico and the other characters. Because every single dialogue of my characters come out from my mind. And the story that I want to share, is told by their mouths.
In real life, I am a very introvert person. I’m afraid to overshare and feeling stupid not being able to react in time. Or sometime talking to people who are seemingly saying something harmless, but meaning something else at the back that I didn’t get.
But deep down, I believe that nobody is an island. And that by connecting with others, there’re often more answers than problems. That “No obstacle is too big if we stand together.” That’s why I decided to create this game in the first place.
And by this opportunity, I want to say thank you to you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you for getting this far with me.
For reading these notes.
For looking at the screenshots, trailer.
For wishlist the game, or even just remembering its name.
Apopia started as something very small and private, a way for me to deal with feelings I don’t know how to say out loud.
But along the way, it turned into a world, a cast of strange but lovable characters. And now, finally a game we can actually release.
I know there’re many games out there:
Big ones. Flashy one. Loud ones.
For Apopia, it may not be the biggest game.
But it is honest.
We built it with our true feelings and passion to make the world feels alive. A story that starts sweet and then goes deeper.
If you decide to play it, I have one small wish:
Don’t rush, dig deep.
Look around the rooms.
Let the funny moments be funny.
Let the quiet moments be quiet.
Somewhere in there, I hope you’ll find a piece of yourself – in Mai, in Moly or any characters inside the game.
And if, at any point, this “sugar coated tale” makes you feel something real… even for a second…
Then these 8 years were worth it.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you once again for giving Apopia a chance. If you haven’t yet, you can still wishlist Apopia: Sugar Coated Tale on Steam. It really helps a small team like ours.
See you soon!
In Yogurt, in the Dark World,
and somewhere in between.
Yours,
Onon
